Maui Ocean Adventures is a small, locally-owned business that is founded and run by Lahaina Fire survivors. Our business was destroyed in the devastating fire, and this is our second chance to make our dream become reality. It has come to be after years of planning and one of the hardest years of our lives. We are beyond grateful and proud to be able to take you out on the water. We are so excited to have visitors return to this beautiful island that we love. Let us show you why this island and this ocean mean so much to us and create incredible life long memories with you!

Emma
Captain Emma was born and raised in Western North Carolina and has always fostered a love for being outside and learning about nature and its many inhabitants. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill (go Tarheels) she made her way up to Juneau, AK for her first whale watching season and became a full-time whale stalker, following these big ole blubber butts all the way down to Maui. After a few years of back and forth, she finally settled on Maui permanently, and hasn’t looked back since.
Fury
Fury the Maine Coon cat has always had an adventurous spirit. She loves feeling the wind in her fur, and has made more than a couple ocean voyages to see the whales in Maui. She has a fearless yet calm way of greeting passengers, and always is looking fierce and fashionable when she dons her pin shark lifejacket. Fury’s love of adventure is the reason we named our newest vessel after her. We know that you will fall in love with this new boat just as hard as so many have fallen in love with Fury the Cat!
Chrissy
Captain Chrissy is a true mariner. She has captained some of the crankiest and most challenging boats on Maui, and has embarked on multiple Pacific crossings for various boat deliveries. Chrissy is an avid fisher, lover of golden retrievers, and is the heart and soul of this operation. She loves the Lahaina community, and is thrilled and honored to be able to use her decades of acquired skills to provide experiences for the local community as well as the visitors we welcome to this beautiful island.
Macy
Captain Macy Tugboat was born and raised in Lahaina, HI. She spent her formative years co-captaining with her mom on the Molokai Ferry, where her love of boats and the ocean began. Macy has been described as a “Bonafide whale freak” and an “honorary whale” by many. She tends to take a slightly humbler tone when asked to describe herself and simply says “boof.”

We are excited to introduce a second boat to our small fleet! Our two iconic pink vessels each boast their own unique story and personality. Whether you prefer a comfortable cruise or a splash of excitement, both offer incredible close-encounter whale watching experiences with that small-group feel.
Meet Macy, the perfect blend of comfort and adventure.
Our original vessel is named “Macy” in honor of our beloved 12-year-old golden retriever. Macy (the dog) was raised on boats since she was a puppy, and holds the position as “Whale Fan #1” in global rankings. Macy (the boat) is a 34’ Centurion and is made for comfort and maneuverability. She is equipped with ample space, 60% shade covering, and comfort seating, and is incredibly safe and easy for boarding. You can enjoy viewing from the “sky deck” as we have dubbed it, great for photography and getting a bit more of a “birds-eye-view,” or you can lounge in the plush seats on the spacious bow of the boat for more of an up close and personal experience. No matter where you sit, you can enjoy 360° views without feeling crowded. All seats are great seats on the Macy, and you will be sure to leave your tour feeling just as excited about the whales as Macy The Dog feels!

Meet Fury, our spirited pink adventure raft, named after our fearless and seafaring Maine Coon cat!
Fury’s story started long before she joined our fleet. Originally built as a military search-and-rescue vessel, she has an impressive history that includes nine documented helicopter drops! Her durable fiberglass hull makes her tough, capable, and built for adventure. Fury brings a whole new meaning to the phrase small but mighty.
With a maximum of just 14 passengers, Fury offers an incredibly intimate whale watching experience that feels more like an adventure with friends than a traditional tour. Sitting close to the water, you’ll feel the ocean breeze, the excitement of the ride, and definitely a splash or two! Fury is for those who want to embrace the elements and experience the ocean from a different perspective. Her low-to-the-water design makes every encounter feel especially immersive, bringing you closer to the sights, sounds, and incredible presence of Maui’s humpback whales.
